The 2018 winner of Miss Agriculture Ghana, Ms. Afriyie Obeng- Fosu has been named the Agricultural Shero (AgriShero 2020).

Established in the year 2018 to recognize the efforts of women in Agribusiness in Ghana and beyond, the Chamber for Women in Agribusiness Ghana (CHAWA) has named Ms. Afriyie Obeng-fosu, a mushroom farmer as AgriShero 2020.

In collaboration with Miss Agriculture Ghana 2020, the young mushroom farmer received a plaque of appreciation for her efforts in contribution of young women in Agribusiness at the just ended Miss Agriculture Ghana Grand finale.

The award was presented by the Director of the Ghana Egg Secretariat, Mad. Comfort Kyerewaa.

Speaking at the event were Mad. Paulina Addy, Director of Women in Agribusiness Ghana (WIAD) under the Ministry of Food and Agriculture; Mad. Pamela, CEO Pamela’s Chicks and Feed; Mad. Akushika, CEO of Yesli Ice; Mad. Akosua Yeboah-Ghansah, founder – Miss Agriculture Ghana and a host of women who are changing the status quo of Agribusiness in Ghana.

The founder of the Chamber of Women in Agribusiness Ghana (CHAWA) Mad. Theresa Aniagyei-Bonsu expressed her greatest appreciation to the executives of the Chamber who have relentlessly supported in shaping the conversation around young women in Agribusiness in Ghana.

She also congratulated Ms. Afriyie Obeng-Fosu for emerging as AgriShero 2020 and also used the platform to encourage other young women to follow suit.

The Chamber since its inception has recognized some great women in the Agribusiness sector till date.
