SynBio Africa is already presenting new and exciting opportunities in the aftermath of the recently concluded Inaugural International Synthetic Biology and Biosecurity conference held in Kampala, Uganda in October, 2021.

On the 15th of January, 2022, the CEO of SynBio Africa, Geoffrey Otim together with members of the core team and some attendees of the conference officially opened the new SynBio Africa Offices in Kisubi, Wakiso, along Entebbe Road in Uganda.

“These offices will serve as a safe space to come and explore the world of synthetic biology as reading materials and office spaces are available for all interested persons,” noted Otim. He also mentioned that this would be the beginning of bigger projects and the organisation is hoping to open the very first Synthetic Biology Centre of Excellence in a much bigger space in a few years.

The offices in the to-be-built center will include that of the CEO, members of the core team and a board room whilst also providing ample parking space. “This is just the first of many great achievements that SynBio Africa is celebrating with promises of more exciting opportunities,” Otim explains. The grand opening event was streamed live on Instagram via Synbio Africa’s official handle @synbio_africa.
