On Friday 26th June, 2020, CASA de Ropa hosted the launch of the 3rd Edition of Miss Agriculture Ghana. The Event which attracted various stakeholders in the Agricultural sector in Ghana and globally, outdoored 9 beautiful young women with various projects of interest in Agriculture.

Miss Agriculture Ghana since its inception in 2017 is contributing in grooming young women in various fields along the Agricultural value chain to take up Agriculture like any other profitable venture or as an alternative venture.

The project is organized yearly by the Uniting Women for Agricultural Development (UWAD) Foundation in partnership with the Women in Agricultural Development Directorate (WIAD) under the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

The Launch which was organized under strict adherence to the COVID -19 protocols was chaired by the President of the CASA de ROPA foundation and the Director of the Women in Agricultural Development Directorate (WIAD) under the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

The Founder of Miss Agriculture Ghana, Oheneba Akosua Kyerewaa expressed her gratitude to sponsors and stakeholders who have supported the journey so far. She added that the 2020 contestants will be embarking on various industrial trips in other to shape their thinking as they gather some field experience on what others are doing in support of the sector.

Contestants will also have various training sections from farm to production, organized by CASA de ROPA to equip them with lifetime skills  which they will replicate in their various communities to reach out to other young women. This will also serve as a source of additional income for such women and their family at large.

The 2020 contestants had the opportunity to share their projects and why they deserve to be crowned Miss Agriculture Ghana 2020. The process was carefully monitored by the 2020 Judges and Reigning Queen – Miss Agriculture Ghana 2019 and 2018 Queen respectively.

The Director of WIAD, Madam Paulina Addy expressed her deepest appreciation to CASA de ROPA for its immense support for the Miss Agriculture Ghana brand and also encouraged other stakeholders to emulate the contribution of CASA de ROPA in the promotion of young women in Agriculture.

She also encouraged the contestants to strive for excellence in the competition and never give up on their various projects even if they emerge winners or not.

The 3rd Edition of Miss Agriculture Ghana was officially launched with a cake cutting session with the contestants by the President of the CASA de ROPA foundation and Director, WIAD.

Guests who attended the event were all refreshed with products made from the Orange Flesh Sweet Potato by CASA de ROPA.
