The Miss Agriculture Ghana contestants in the past weeks have embarked on two educational trips. The trips are designed to fit into the pageant’s activities and aim at exposing them to possibilities in the industrial sector.

The first trip made on July 3 was an industrial one to the premises of Bel Aqua and Bel Beverages in Tema. While there, the ladies visited the production rooms and were educated on the processes that lead to producing the Bel Aqua mineral water and other beverages by the company.

The marketing manager of the company in an interactive session with the ladies, advised them on directions and chances they could utilize in the course of executing their projects.

All 9 contestants then visited the Casa de Ropa farms at Gomoa – Bewadze in the central region of the country on July 17. They learned more about the Orange Fleshed Sweet Potato, which is cultivated by the company.

They also engaged in some farm activities which involved planting and harvesting of the potatoes and other processes they go through before reaching consumers.

According to the founder of the project pageant Akosua Kyerewaa Yeboah-Ghansah,  these educational trips will expose the contestants to knowledge and opportunities in the agribusiness sector. She added that, it is also an opportunity for training and networking.
